Toradze Festival

Just back from one of the most exciting orchestral gigs I’ve ever performed in, at the incredible Toradze International Music Festival.

The Evgeni Mikeladze Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Nikoloz Rachveli with Piano from Edisha Savitski - brought an incredible energy & music insight to Breaking Screens & Techno Suite, and then the audience response was just so special. It felt like the perfect time & place to perform this music! Tbilisi is fast gaining a reputation as a Mecca for electronic dance music, but they also have a strong classical tradition, and so my combination of these two worlds seemed to make so much sense here - and the audience of all ages totally got it, and I had so many inspiring conversations after the concert. Thank you Tbilisi!

I can’t recommend this magical and unique festival enough! Created in memory of the great Georgian pianist: Lexo Toradze (who sadly died in 2022). It is brilliantly curated by Nino Toradze & Edisha Savitski, who bring world-class artists from all corners of the globe, including several of Lexo’s past students (who are all now established pianists in their own right) to perform a ‘Piano Marathon’ concert - a concert first conceived by Lexo.

A big thank you to all the organisers of the festival, the brilliant programming, the unforgettable Georgian hospitably.

and of course Lexo Toradze for inspiring all of us.

Keep a look out for next years festival (will be around the end of May 2025) and book your tickets.
