COLLABORATIONS IN DANCE

 

Prokofiev regularly collaborates with contemporary dance. His first full-length ballet work, Ein Winternachtstraum, was choreographed by Cathy Marston and premiered by Bern Ballet (with Bern Symphony Orchestra) in 2011. In 2013 Karole Armitage choreographed extracts and remixes from his Concerto for Turntables & Orchestra. More recent dance works include two ballets solely for electronics; Howl! (Tanz Luzerner Theater/Maurice Causey, 2013), and three works with acclaimed contemporary choreographer Shobana JeyasinghStrange Blooms (2013), Terra Incognita (2014) commissioned by Rambert Dance CompanyBayadere: The Ninth Life (2015) premiered at Lindbury Theatre at the Royal Opera House, reviving at Sadler’s Wells in October 2017. In 2017, he made his debut composition for Stuttgarter Ballet with a score for full orchestra and live electronics, choreographed by Kasia Kozielska: Dark Glow. This year, he composed an acoustic/electronic score for Gandini Juggling and Alexander Whitley Company for their show Spring, which is currently on tour in the UK and Europe.
