I’m writing this blog while I’ve settled nicely in the South of Germany for the annual Bodensee Festival. I will be Artist-in-Residence at this year’s festival alongside Russian pianist Dmitry Masleev, and I’ve curated seven events and will collaborate with various Russian & local musicians. Performances will be in venues all around the beautiful Lake Constance, including legendary techno club ‘Douala’ and Tettnang Castle. This year, the festival will celebrate Russian music with a host of guest artists from Europe and Russia performing everything from classic Russian works to challenging new music and exciting club nights. Despite all the political hiccups that have grabbed the headlines recently, I hope this festival will show how culture can transcend such difficult situations and inspire audiences.
With so much happening during the three weeks, here’s a quick digest of the concerts and events I will be performing in and/or feature some of my chamber music works.
